Release
I’ve finally gotten to the point where I can release a bit of jk.com v5 without feeling guilty about the presentation. And yes, the picture on the side bar is me. I dig it. Unfortunately, this is the only page you’ll see with v5 applied to it, as I’ll be using this as a template for the others and will spend more time on them a bit later. I hope you like this one. Please email me if you do. Pretty please. I need validation.
Don’t be fooled into thinking this is the end-all be-all version either. I’m the king of tweaking and reverse engineering. When I see something on the web I like I simply pull the source code, learn what I have to to understand it, give it a jk.com twist, and throw it right into my site. Ta da! I believe there aren’t anymore more original ideas anymore. One way or another everything’s been copied to some extent. Take v5 for instance. Sure, I spent a butt load of hours learning everything necessary just getting the one measly page you see here, but do you think I invented CSS? If you do, thanks for the props, but I didn’t. If you look closely at the source file (in the standard toolbar, View –> Source) you’ll see a lot of sloppy and redundant code. My fault in part, yes, but it wasn’t detrimental to the hasty release so I’ll clean it up later. There are just entirely too many things I want to learn, and it’s becoming glaringly obvious that I don’t have the kind of time that I need to dedicate to the cause.
I’m realizing that I’m writing a blog about writing a blog and designing a site around a blog. Where are my deep, most personal inner thoughts? Where are my amusing quips and humorous remarks? They’re coming. I just gotta find room again in v5.
It’s new. It’s hip. It’s finally here!
Check out the chat board below the archives and send a quick note out to the masses. You’ll have more friends if you do.Enjoy the quotes at the top of the page. They’ll be included in the template for the entire site and rotate randomly after every refresh among over 75 of my favorites… and growing!
It’s good to be back. Enjoy.
