Six hours of sleep: The eve of day 1
My alarm is set for 0500 so I can get into the embassy and get some work done. It is now 2314 and I’m under my six hour mark, but that’s okay. Six hours was the max.
I went on another ride today. It’s almost a habit again. My plan for tomorrow is embassy until about noon-ish, then an hour ride or so (maybe two), then the gym, study/homework time, and Boy Scouts at 1900. Basically any time I’m not working I need to be doing homework. I put it in writing, hence so it shall be done.
I’ve finally unlocked the mystery of the style switcher! Yeah, I realize I made the seemingly empty promises that a user could change the look and feel of jk.com v5 to personalize the experience (and an “experience” it is!), but now it’s a reality. All I need to do now is design a few more looks for the site and put the links in the nav bar. Rather than subtle changes like line weights and color schemes, I’m thinking of producing at least three completely different looks. These looks will be ideas I’ve had for jk.com v5 since the beginning but didn’t consider due to site management issues and popular preferences. Where did I get the idea, you may ask? AreaEleven is where I saw the style switcher first utilized. It’s a pretty slick looking personal site. Everything you see on my site has been literally bulled through one agonizing tutorial at a time, so if you’ve ever got any questions as to how I did something, simply ask and I’ll tell you the boiled down, regurgitated Jayme version. If it works for me, it’ll work for you! And speaking of user input, if you’ve got any design ideas for this site, be it pictures or themes or whatever, email me here and I’ll see what I can do. I’m thinking popular themes like mountain bikes, Marine Corps, chics in bikinis, and of course, me me me. But I say this knowing that the kind of crowd I’m dealing with is not very publicly opinionated. I know you guys! When were you ever this quiet?
But I digress. Tons of redesign ideas are bouncing around in my brain at this very moment. You’ll see them, but I’m not going to dump them in a heap on you like I always do.
I know. Promises, promises.
