My St Patrick’s Day contribution

17 Mar 2004 | No Comments | Continue reading »

I felt it necessary to contribute to the St. Patrick’s Day theme mainly because I’ve actually been to Ireland, and hence am an expert on all things Irish now. Grave stones, castle ruins, and forlorn looking trees with no leaves. Everything about this photo says “depression”. It’s no wonder the Irish fled to the United […]

The road to recovery

It’s amazing the difference a day makes! The last two nights I’ve slept like a baby (with a bad back) and have actually been having more problems with my oozing scab-of-a-knee sticking to the sheets than anything else. It’s a refreshing change. I’ve been taking Doc’s crack pills as directed now for the third day […]

The doctor isn’t in

My day began bright and early at 0320 when I woke up howling in pain from making a wrong move in my sleep. I didn’t sleep much after that and basically rolled around in agony for five more hours. Gunny called at 0800 bantering something about needing an escort for new cabinet installation in the […]

Better days

I am, admittedly and despite my posts of late, experiencing better days. It’s been almost two weeks since 2,426 word dissertation on the Marine Security Guard program and I’m seeing things in a new light now. My problems did not lie in the things around me, but rather the downward spiral my life was taking […]

Crisis management

“A Marine is never happy unless he’s bitching.” It’s a saying that holds true after 228 years of kicking ass all over the world, and in honor of that tradition I’ve decided to contribute my own recent gripes and complaints. This rant was spurred on by another J.K. on the other side of the world […]

The author.Born in the year of the Dragon, the author grudgingly accepts the fact he has too many interests and not enough time. A cyclist as long as he can remember, an avid yet inconsistent writer since age eleven, and a U.S. Marine since age twenty-one, the author also adds peak bagging, diving, snowboarding, and computers to his list of interests. Incidentally, he is aware of his inability to make a living from any but the Corps. The author accepts this as fact and remains optimistic. Feel free to drop him a line.
