Seven year Marine Corps anniversary

28 Jul 2004 | One Comment | Continue reading »

Today is my anniversary. No, it’s not an anniversary of a relationship or buying a home or even survival, it’s an anniversary of an entirely different sort. Possibly, a new beginning. Maybe something as simple as one of choice. It was a decision that radically changed my life. Seven years ago today, I stepped on […]

Bee Eye Tea See H

A local female recently remarked to me that I’ve been suffering from male PMS. I scoffed at the preposterous notion and emphatically denied any connection between my hormones and my mood swings in any form of the word. But the more I thought about it, the more strange, little coincidences were beginning to surface. Almost […]

Rabbit hole vs. reality

I used to be such a sweet, sweet thing ‘Til they got a hold of me. I opened doors for little old ladies, I helped the blind to see. I got no friends ’cause they read the papers. They can’t be seen with me and I’m gettin’ real shot down And I’m feeling mean. No […]

Letter to the critic(s)

Okay, “critics” is a pretty general word, but to those jackasses who read my last post and think I’m a racist because of it, I strongly encourage you to: 1.) Buy another half a brain. 2.) Reread the post and take it for what it is, point blank. 3.) Dredge your mind out of the […]

A fine line

Racism and prejudice are strange bedfellows. They’re complicated enough on their own, just swinging in the breeze, waiting for an unsuspecting young soul to pick up the scent. But mix in some bigger players like hate and contempt and war, and you’ve got an explosive scenario on your hands. Before World War I, did Americans […]

Coalition defined

Coalition: An alliance, especially a temporary one, of people, factions, parties, or nations. I’ve been pussyfooting around current events now for quite some time. It’s not that I don’t have any opinion of the matter(s) or that opinions I do have are slanted one way or another, but I just can’t produce page after page, […]

The author.Born in the year of the Dragon, the author grudgingly accepts the fact he has too many interests and not enough time. A cyclist as long as he can remember, an avid yet inconsistent writer since age eleven, and a U.S. Marine since age twenty-one, the author also adds peak bagging, diving, snowboarding, and computers to his list of interests. Incidentally, he is aware of his inability to make a living from any but the Corps. The author accepts this as fact and remains optimistic. Feel free to drop him a line.
