New(est) address(es)

I’m here, at last, in Habbaniyah (pronounced dirka-dirka-chi) and enjoying things such as they are. Despite the in-the-rear-with-the-gear feel that being in an army base camp provides, there’s even more bad guys in the surrounding area then Fallujah. Who would have thought the ones who didn’t die would have fled west? With luck our Iraqis will be fire baptized soon. Maybe then they will take this mission seriously.

My ten man team is joined by a spattering of army personnel, about seventeen in total. I often find myself distracted by their sideburns, untidy uniforms, foreign acronyms, and everyone being referred to as “Sarge.” Despite the shortcomings, they’re good people. After all, we can’t all be Marines.
