Transcription service wanted

I’ve decided to outsource the transcription of my Lewis and Clark Bicycle Tour journals. But rather then mail my precious notebooks to some seedy service in Bangladesh, I’m going to keep this job in-house. Hence, I now appeal to the American public and jaymekohler.com readers nationwide.

I have two journals that need typing. My first journal was written in a standard 8 1/2 x 11 spiral bound notebook. I’ve already typed over half of it, but twenty-five pages, front and back, remain. My second journal was written in a smaller 5 x 7 notebook of which I haven’t even started. That journal is thirty seven pages front and back.

Turnaround time, payment amount and method, and detailed instructions will be discussed as needed but all in all the process is pretty simple. I mail you the journals. You begin typing them up and email me individual entries as they are completed so I can get them posted online. When you finish, you mail the journals back to me. I require each entry be typed in separate Microsoft Word document (.doc) and the naming convention for each file be:

{Day} – {FromCity, State} to {ToCity, State}

An example entry is
12 – [7mEo] Ovando, MT to [9mWo] Simms, MT
although I renamed the file for easier downloading.
