A local female recently remarked to me that I’ve been suffering from male PMS. I scoffed at the preposterous notion and emphatically denied any connection between my hormones and my mood swings in any form of the word. But the more I thought about it, the more strange, little coincidences were beginning to surface. Almost [...]

Letter to the critic(s)

Okay, “critics” is a pretty general word, but to those jackasses who read my last post and think I’m a racist because of it, I strongly encourage you to: 1.) Buy another half a brain. 2.) Reread the post and take it for what it is, point blank. 3.) Dredge your mind out of the [...]

There are some things in modern, civilized society you just don’t do. Maybe you don’t do it out of common decency, like fart in church. Maybe you don’t do it because you know better, like pissing into the wind. And maybe you don’t do it because that’s just the way it’s always been, like putting [...]

Everyone waved to everyone else in the small town of Glen Ullin, North Dakota where I grew up. It’s just what you did and was accepted as the norm. You waved to the farm kid hauling wheat to town on a hot afternoon. You waved to the old crazy lady bringing her groceries home, and [...]

I hear a protein shake after a hard night of drinking is good for you. Tonight I test that theory. I really didn’t get all that messed up out at the bars tonight. The three of us, Sgt Hill, Sgt Lynn, and I grabbed some chow at a local greasy spoon, called Lonestar, with good [...]

O Canada!

I travel to the north from whence I came so many moons ago. The land is wild. Icy wind buffets my face from all directions. Snow swirls around my feet. I pull my collar tightly around my neck. I remember a different time of hot, humid days in the sun that lasted forever and bronze [...]

The author.Born in the year of the Dragon, the author grudgingly accepts the fact he has too many interests and not enough time. A cyclist as long as he can remember, an avid yet inconsistent writer since age eleven, and a U.S. Marine since age twenty-one, the author also adds computers, snowboarding, and motorcycles to his list of interests. Incidentally, he is aware of his inability to make a living from any but the Corps. The author accepts this as fact and remains optimistic. Feel free to drop him a line.
